My Story

Before I dive into my story and bio I want to point out the most important aspect when starting any business or goal you have for the future.

This key aspect is your “WHY”.
 
Your “WHY” is what motivates you to reach whatever you want in life.
 
What will keep you moving even in the hardest and most difficult times you face. I don’t know how many times you’ve seen the “gurus” on Youtube tell you that building a profitable and consistent business online is very easy. But the honest truth is that it’s not as easy as it seems. It can be simple, but not easy.
 
You need to have your “Why” cleared out because the key for succeeding in anything is to be extremely perseverant and keep putting in the work even when things are not going the way you expect. No matter what situation/obstacle you face, your “WHY” will always motivate you to keep pushing forward.
 
Most people say: “My motivation is money. I want to make money…” And to be honest, I used to be that guy. I wanted to make money to feel fulfilled and successful. But the truth is that when you focus on just getting money, the less you will get it and you won’t get so far. 
 
The reality is that money will not make you go out of bed early in a freezing cold morning and make you exit your comfort zone to achieve greatness in life. Well, it might for a short period of time, but not for the long term.
 
On the other hand, if your main goal is to give your family a better life, live life on your terms or help someone in need, you will do whatever it takes to make things happen. It doesn’t matter how much you struggle… You will find the motivation to do the hard things to get there.
 
Having said this, I encourage you to think deeply in what will fuel you throughout the journey of building and scaling your business.
 
Maybe your inner and most powerful desire is to help your family or loved ones. There is no correct “why” because everyone is different and each person has a different reason why they are going to put a ton of hard work and dedication to their work.
 
Building a business is not for everyone. In fact, a very small percentage of people that start a business online truly get amazing results. And it has nothing to do with their intelligence or business skills. In most cases it’s simply a matter of how far people are willing to go to change their lives.
 
I’m sure you’ve heard the fact that 50% of businesses fail within their first 5 years. While that statistic might be true, the reason these businesses fail is because people fail. Most entrepreneurs think that building a business is flowers and rainbows.
 

The true reason why most businesses online fail is because their owners are not working until the business works, they are just all over the place looking for the next shiny object or a new trend in the market expecting that it will make them rich fast.

Ok, having said that, let’s start with my history.

Who is Jordan Velásquez?

I’m a young entrepreneur in my twenties with a B.S in International Business and Finance.

Since I was little, I dreamt of having my own business, make my own schedule, and work from whenever and wherever I wanted.

In order to achieve that, I knew I had to take action ASAP!

I first started online, back when I had no idea what I was doing. I was searching for answers and knowledge just like you are right now.

In 2017, I started getting into eCommerce. My partner and I created a Shopify Clothing Store for pregnant women. We were doing dropshipping and we used Social Media Marketing to get sales.

Dropshipping is when you sell someone a product and your supplier sends it out without you even touching it.

It was an exciting venture for us as it was the first time we tried to earn money online.

We made a few sales but it wasn’t enough to succeed and to recover our investment.

After three months into our online journey, we decided to close our store and focus on other projects.

BIG MISTAKE!…

Haven given up this business is something I regret the most. We were actually following the right path: we started getting sales 14 days after we ran our first Facebook ads campaign. The coaches I was following online didn’t even make their first sale during such short period of time!

August 29th, 2017 was the first time we made our first sale online.

In the picture below you can see a screenshot of that sale from my Paypal account, which is one of the payment methods we had available on the store.

That’s how we realized that making money online was truly possible. We were so excited about it that I even made a tweet on my Twitter account lol.

After that we started searching and testing other products, creating more campaigns, reaching out to public figures in the pregnancy niche, but despite all our efforts, we didn’t get the results we wanted.

This happened because of the following reasons:

And just like that, we ended up in the trap of this industry, thinking that making money online is fast and easy when it’s actually the complete opposite.

You should approach this business model as any other business, focus on it, and make it work!

However, it was still a great learning experience as we had the chance to test different strategies and to learn how to create a business online from scratch.

And to be honest, those results weren’t that bad considering we were just a couple of newbies.

From this first attempt to the online world and thanks to the many courses I took, I started to investigate and learn more in-depth about eCommerce, web design, content marketing, sales funnels, social media marketing, and affiliate marketing.

I started getting some freelance jobs setting up online stores, websites, blogs, creating content and paid advertisements campaigns for small local businesses, as well as giving workshops to local business owners and entrepreneurs.

I then realized that I was helping others to improve their online presence, attract more customers and getting more sales to their businesses.

This is the reason why I decided to create VG Online Solutions, to share my knowledge and skills that I have learned from my failures, the strategies that gave me the best results, and the courses I took and still am taking because I believe that you should constantly educate yourself.

The reason I am telling you about my own personal story rather than giving you a very professional “About Us” for my business is to show you that I’m just a regular person that made a commitment to myself and to my future.

I’m still very young but I’ve been through countless experiences that have allowed me to build my dream business, overcome my mental barriers and help other people with their business too.

Also, my intention with this story is simply to share the journey that I’ve went through and not tell you “ohh I finally made it!”

I’ve built the business of my dreams according to my own definition of success and made money along the way. Some people definitely are more succesfull than me online, and that’s ok.

I’m still going through my journey as I write this. I see ups and downs all the time. I still face a lot of obstacles. But that’s what entrepreneurship is about. It’s about the journey.

I truly believe anyone can create the business and lifestyle they dream of if they commit to learn, take action every day and not quit until they reach their goals.
